Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas or happy gas, is a form of inhalation anaesthesia that can be safely administered while performing certain dental procedures. It is delivered through a mask that is placed over your nose. The gas works very rapidly, the depth of sedation can be controlled, and there is no "hangover" effect.
